OGX, which stands for Out Going Exchanges, is the department of AIESEC in University of Colombo responsible for getting sudents (undergraduates and recent graduates) an opportunity to go for an International Exchange Experience.
OGX helps recently graduated students and undergraduate students of local universities and other recognized institutes of Sri Lanka to benefit from the opportunities that AIESEC provides by giving exchange opportunities to work abroad. In doing so, the students get an invaluable experience on cultural diversity experience as well as a quality internship. This will lead to new opportunities, spread across the globe, for obtaining more knowledge and skills.
Present in over 107 countries and territories and with over 50,000 members, AIESEC is the world's largest student‐run organisation. Focused on providing a platform for youth leadership development, AIESEC offers young people the opportunity to be global citizens, to change the world, and to get experience and skills that matter today.
AIESEC in University of Colombo started in year 2002 as an extension of the AIESEC in University of Kelaniya (Colombo North Local Committee) and running in both University of Colombo and National Institute of Social Development in Koswatte.
Up to now the Local Chapter in AIESEC in University of Colombo has participated in organising large national level events for AIESEC in Sri Lanka such as, Developing Leaders Day (DLD) 2009, Career Development Day (CDD) 2010 and also National Leaders Development Seminar (NLDS) 2010. This has enabled AIESEC to gain visibility through the participants for these events. Further visiblity has been gained by providing international exchange opportunities for undergraduates and recently passed out graduates.
